Traffic Engineer/Project ManagerAre we the road to your future?We are currently searching for an experienced Traffic Engineer/Project Manager to support our Gulf Region group located in Birmingham, Huntsville, Mobile, Montgomery, or Tuscaloosa, AL. Candidates must be willing to relocate to Alabama if out of state.To be considered for this position, applicants must have, at minimum, 5 years of traffic engineer and/or transportation planning.What you'll be doing:Perform routine aspects of assignments requiring knowledge and application of basic engineering principlesProjects may include traffic operations analysis, traffic signal design, traffic signal timing development, corridor planning studies, transportation safety studies, roadway master planning, long range transportation planning, and transportation modeling (micro and macro)Work on temporary traffic control plan/traffic management plan (TMP) and signing, pavement marking plansWork on traffic signal design plans for new intersections and signal modifications to facilitate multimodal accommodationsAssist in preparing conceptual intersection layouts, schematics, signal timings and engineering reportsAssist with and prepare roadway design plansAttend project meetings with clientsLearn project budgets to meet financial metricsPotential to learn and participate in business development activitiesPerforms other duties as assignedAssist East Gulf Manager in development of junior engineering staffPrepare engineering studies, documents, and reportsThis position offers an excellent career opportunity with tremendous growth potential.What you need to have:B.S. or M.S. in Civil Engineering from ABET accredited engineering program5+ years of experience – Must be in traffic engineering and/or transportation planning with a history of progressive growth in project responsibilitiesAlabama PE License requiredPTOE, PTP, and/or RSP certifications are a plusCompetency with traffic engineering and transportation planning practices and proceduresCompetency with Synchro, VISSIM, SIDRA, HCS, and MicrostationFamiliarity with CUBE Voyager and TransCAD is a plusFamiliarity with OpenRoads Designer is desired but not requiredCompetency with MS Office productsMust be dependable with the ability to work independently, as well as part of a team to meet deadlines and provide high quality workAbility to pass a pre-employment drug screening to ensure a safe and productive work environment.
