Positions Available The Department of Psychology at the University of Mississippi invites applications for four faculty openings. Applicants may apply to one or more positions if their specialization fits more than one announcement. Position1: Psychology and African American Studies Joint appointment in Psychology and African American Studies. Open to any area of specialization. Responsibilities include teaching graduate and undergraduate courses (including a cross‑listed course in Black Psychology) and supervising graduate students. If the candidate’s area is clinical psychology, they will also provide clinical supervision for graduate students and obtain licensure. The tenure‑granting department is Psychology; teaching duties are split between the two departments based on needs. Position2: Developmental Psychology Assistant Professor – Developmental Psychology. Open to any area of lifespan development. Responsibilities include teaching graduate and undergraduate courses and supervising graduate students. The new faculty member will complement existing faculty expertise in developmental, clinical, cognitive, and social psychology. Position3: Clinical Psychology Assistant Professor – Clinical Psychology. Open to any area of specialization. Responsibilities include teaching graduate and undergraduate courses, supervising graduate students in research, and supervising clinical graduate students in their practicum work. Candidates should commit to evidence‑based practice and intend to pursue licensure in Mississippi. The program follows a scientist‑practitioner model. Position4: Behavioral Psychology Instructional Assistant Professor – Behavior Analysis. Focus on teaching Behavioral Psychology with expertise in neurodiversity (e.g., autism), early intervention, and/or verbal behavior. Candidates should be committed to evidence‑based supervision and teaching of graduate and undergraduate courses. Minimum Requirements All positions: Ph.D. in Psychology or related field, completed or on track to complete by August 2025. Clinical Psychology: Ph.D. and predoctoral internship from an APA‑accredited program completed by August 2025. Behavioral Psychology: BCBA certification at time of appointment (August2025).
