Route Driver - Columbia, TN

Job Summary:The Route Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of products to customers on an assigned route. This position is 100% touch freight, requiring the manual handling of products and the operation of equipment such as hand trucks. The driver must possess a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) and maintain a current medical card.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Safely operate a commercial vehicle to transport and deliver products to customers according to the assigned route schedule.Load and unload freight, requiring frequent lifting of individual items up to 100 lbs. and maneuvering loaded hand trucks up and down a ramp.Ensure all deliveries are completed accurately and in compliance with company policies and customer requirements.Collect payments from customers as required and turn in collected funds following company procedures.Maintain accurate records, including delivery logs and trip reports.Adhere to all federal, state, and local traffic laws and company safety policies.Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any maintenance issues.Work in various weather conditions, including extreme temperatures, rain, snow, and ice.Perform continuous physical activities, including standing, walking, bending, and lifting throughout the shift.Provide excellent customer service by interacting professionally with customers and resolving delivery-related issues as needed.Qualifications:Valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record.Current DOT medical card.Ability to handle physical demands, including lifting heavy products and moving loaded hand trucks.Strong attention to detail and ability to follow route schedules.Basic math and cash-handling skills for accepting and turning in payments.Excellent customer service and communication skills.Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.Work Environment:Exposure to all weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, and snow.Requires frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting throughout the shift.Must be able to perform physically demanding tasks in a fast-paced environment.Schedule is Monday through Friday, with early morning start times and variable shift durations depending on load size.Physical Requirements:Ability to lift and carry up to 100 lbs.Frequent walking, bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.Ability to climb in and out of the truck multiple times per day.Benefits:401(k)401(k) matchingDental insuranceEmployee assistance programHealth insuranceHealth savings accountLife insurancePaid trainingRetirement planVision insuranceWork Location: In person #J-18808-Ljbffr Wood Fruitticher
