Wound Care Technician - PRN
Parkland Health and Hospital System
Location: Moody Outpatient Center **DAY SHIFT** PRN Position Primary Purpose Provides debridement and wound care to patients to decrease complications, speed healing time, and assist in maximum recovery for patients. MINIMUM SPECIFICATIONS Education:
Must have completed or hold one of the following:
Must have current heartsaver provider CPR course completion card within 30
Must have completed or hold one of the following:
- Two (2) years of experience in a Med/Surg environment
- A formal nurse aide course
- A current certified nurse aide registry
- A medical assistant course
- A current medical assistant certificate
- A patient care technician course
- A current patient care technician certificate
- Must be a currently enrolled in an accredited school of professional nursing and must have documentation of basic fundamentals of nursing from the school
- Must be a graduate from an accredited school of nursing
- Parkland's job specific training program
- Previous experience as a wound care technician preferred.
Must have current heartsaver provider CPR course completion card within 30

- American Red Cross
- Military Training Network
- Must be able to successfully complete all department assigned competencies.
- Must be able to read, write and communicate effectively with patients, families, medical staff and hospital personnel.
- Must be able to document care given in the medical record.
- Must be able to demonstrate patient centered/patient valued behaviors.
- Must have good fine motor and manual dexterity skills.
