Nursing Assistant (CNA) at Woodwind's HospitalFairview is looking for a Nursing Assistant (CNA) at Woodwind's Hospital in Woodbury, MN. This position is 0.7 FTE (56 hours per two weeks), working 8 hour shifts on the Day/Evening shift (7:00AM - 3:30PM / 3:00PM - 11:30PM) with an every other weekend (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday) rotation and a holiday rotation.Woodwinds Health Campus opened its 86-bed hospital in August 2000. We're known for attention to detail — and attention to patients — and the calming ambiance is enhanced by the surrounding woods and wetlands.About this position - Med Surg/Ortho 3 South26 private roomsPatient population: total hips, total knees, spine surgeries, shoulder surgeries, general Med/Surg, and general orthoAges 18+Patient average length of stay is 1-3 daysThe Nursing Assistant is responsible for assisting the professional nurse/caregiver in the delivery of patient care, transporting patient and/or equipment, setting up and maintaining patient rooms, and the reordering and stocking of supplies. The Nursing Assistant does not work autonomously but works under the direction of a professional nurse. The Nursing Assistant may be given a patient care assignment based on unit needs and the discretion of the manager/charge nurse.Provides basic patient care by performing routine duties to include: Partners with patient care giver in care/decision making.Personal grooming, bathing, toileting,Feeding,Skin care needs (clean and sterile dressing changes), applying ointments/creams,Oral hygiene,Specimen collection/testing,Position/ambulating,Changing linens,Promptly answers call lights.Assists nurse in monitoring patient condition.Accurately takes and records weights, input/output, blood pressure, temperature, pulse rates, respiration, oxygen saturation.Places patient on/off monitors or equipment.Reports unusual findings to the RN in a timely manner.Assists with admissions, transfers, and discharge of patients.Orients patient/family to environment.Assures the patient's belongings are accounted for, documented upon admission, transfer and discharge.Required Qualifications:Basic Life Support (BLS for Healthcare Providers) certification required through the American Red Cross or American Heart Association-Healthcare Provider. Ontrack participants much be able to obtain Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification upon completion of the OnTrack program.AND one of the four following qualifications:(1) Six months of recent direct care experience in a long term, home care or acute care setting.
