Responsibilities

• Interpret between English and the applicable language.
• Accurately interpret between English and the target language.
• Maintain professionalism through attitude and interpreting services.
• Follow the Interpreter Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice.

Qualifications

• Proficient in English and the applicable languages in both written and spoken forms.
• Proficient computer skills, including email, scheduling systems, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, etc.
• Advanced interpretation and communication skills.
• Reliable transportation for onsite appointments, and reliable phone, internet connection, and a quiet work environment for virtual appointments.
• Familiarity with interpreting modes—simultaneous or consecutive, VRI, OPI, OSI.
• Certified in interpreting or related field, BA in interpretation, translation, or related field (preferred).
• At least 1-2 years experience interpreting in a professional setting.

Position Details

• Type: 1099 Independent Contract
• Hours – By appointment only; interpreters accept or decline appointments and create their own schedule.
• Pay schedule: once a month.
