Job Overview Licensed Veterinary Technician – Kenai Veterinary Hospital, Kenai, Alaska. The position focuses on providing high‑quality clinical care, monitoring, and support for diagnostic, surgical, and dental procedures within a full‑time, five‑shift environment (Monday‑Friday). This role involves mentorship and training of other associates while delivering exceptional service to clients and their pets. Who We Are Kenai Veterinary Hospital is the oldest veterinary practice on the Kenai Peninsula, staffed by a dedicated team of three doctors offering comprehensive veterinary services. We collaborate with community partners to provide after‑hour emergency care. Responsibilities & Qualifications Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) in Alaska or eligible to obtain state license within 3 months of hire. Minimum 3 years of veterinary clinical experience. Proficiency in veterinary equipment and industry software (preferred experience with Avimark). Advanced animal handling and restraint techniques. Clinical nursing care in a hospital setting, including IV, urinary catheter placement, and application of casts, bandages, and splints. Experience with anesthesia monitoring, intubation, pre‑operative and post‑operative care. Dental procedural skills: scaling, polishing, digital radiology. Laboratory skills: cytology set‑up and interpretation. Diagnostic imaging: digital radiology, dental radiology, ultrasound‑guided cystocentesis. Strong communication and organizational skills. Ability to adapt to and collaborate with an established veterinary team. Desire to mentor and train associate staff in high‑quality medicine standards.
