Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain production schedules based on customer orders, delivery deadlines, material availability, and manufacturing capacity.
- Create, release, and update manufacturing work orders using an ERP system.
- Coordinate with purchasing and warehouse teams to ensure components are available before scheduled production.
- Identify material shortages, track outstanding parts, and communicate potential delays to production leadership.
- Monitor work in progress and adjust schedules to address changing priorities, equipment constraints, or supply issues.
- Coordinate assembly priorities with production supervisors to support efficient workflow and timely completion.
- Review bills of materials and work order information for accuracy; coordinate discrepancies with the appropriate teams.
- Maintain scheduling spreadsheets, production reports, and order status updates.
- Track inventory requirements and support efforts to reduce excess material and prevent shortages.
- Communicate schedule changes and production risks across departments.
- Support continuous improvement efforts to strengthen scheduling accuracy, material flow, and on-time delivery.
Qualifications
- At least 2 years of production planning or scheduling experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment.
- Experience using ERP/MRP systems for work orders, inventory tracking, and production scheduling.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including sorting, filtering, formulas, and maintaining planning spreadsheets.
- Understanding of bills of materials, manufacturing lead times, inventory control, and capacity planning.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond effectively to schedule changes.
- Associate degree in a related field or equivalent relevant work experience.
Preferred Experience
- Electrical equipment, industrial equipment, or electromechanical assembly manufacturing.
- Oracle ERP or a comparable manufacturing ERP system.
- Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement practices.
