Fleet Mechanic

Fleet MechanicWelsbach Electric Corp. of L.I. is seeking a Fleet Mechanic to assist with the repair and maintenance of diesel and gasoline powered heavy construction equipment and vehicles. This is a stable job with comprehensive benefits and opportunities for additional training. Our shop needs a self-motivated, organized individual with a strong work ethic and the ability to handle all vehicles in a fast-paced environment.You will work alongside an experienced ASE Certified Master Automotive and Heavy-Duty Technician on over 150 pieces of equipment. Our fleet includes but is not limited to auger, bucket, and box trucks, vans, pickups, forklifts, trailers, trenchers, and leaf blowers.Compensation Range: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour. This position is bonus eligible.Include the following. Other duties may be assigned:Perform maintenance on construction fleet including both gasoline and diesel vehicles.Diagnose and repair all mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.Conduct NYS safety and emission inspections.Diagnose and repair vehicles and equipment.Transport vehicles, parts, and supplies to job sites as needed.Respond to road calls and emergencies as required.Document drivers' complaints and report vehicle needs to Fleet Manager.Process accurate, legible, and detailed work orders.Clean, organize, and maintain the shop and inventory as needed.Comply with all Company operating policies, procedures, OSHA, and safety programs.Maintain certifications and licenses.Report to work full-time, Monday through Friday, 7:00 am – 3:30 pm.To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
