Education Program Manager, Alpha - $200,000/year USD

The most effective leaders understand that success is not defined by individual accomplishments. It is measured by the achievements of those they develop and support. If you have experience building exceptional teams, mentoring individuals to surpass performance targets, and operating in settings where excellence is non-negotiable, this opportunity allows you to leverage those capabilities to influence the next generation. At Alpha, students do not spend their time in traditional lectures. They advance academically through adaptive technology while Guides provide coaching, accountability, motivation, and life skills development. As a Lead Guide, you will assemble and develop the team that executes this model—mentoring Guides, cultivating leaders, and establishing an environment where students routinely surpass expectations. This is not a role focused on instructional coaching, nor is it traditional classroom teaching. You will not review lesson plans or observe lectures, because none exist. Instead, your work centers on building a culture of excellence through Guide coaching, facilitating impactful life skills workshops, and inspiring students to pursue ambitious goals. Performance will be assessed based on the quality of the student experience, your team's outcomes, and your capacity to uphold rigorous standards while motivating others to reach them. Alpha is constructing the world's premier K-12 experience. This demands leaders who have demonstrated their ability to elevate the performance of others, make evidence-based decisions, and champion innovative approaches instead of defending legacy practices. If this reflects your background, we encourage you to connect with us. This position is presently available at select Alpha campuses: Greenwich, CT; Boca Raton, FL; Miami, FL; Miami Beach, FL; Boston, MA; Raleigh, NC; New York City, NY; Orange County, CA; and Santa Barbara, CA. If you are currently in one of these markets—or open to relocating—we want to hear from you. Exceptional candidates from other regions are also welcome to apply. As Alpha grows, we frequently align outstanding leaders with opportunities throughout our expanding campus network. What You Will Be Doing Mentoring Guides to reliably deliver outstanding student experiences while upholding Alpha's rigorous standards. Facilitating dynamic life skills workshops that cultivate communication, leadership, focus, and other essential real-world competencies for K-12 students. Inspiring students to pursue ambitious learning objectives and maximize their progress in self-directed academic programs. Leveraging data, observation, and coaching dialogues to enhance Guide effectiveness and student results. Supporting the launch and establishment of new Alpha campuses by fostering a culture grounded in excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement. What You Won’t Be Doing Delivering traditional academic instruction or subject-specific lectures. Developing lesson plans or designing curriculum materials. Compromising standards to create an illusion of success rather than facilitating genuine mastery. Leading a team remotely from an office without direct, regular coaching engagement with students and Guides. Defending outdated methods simply because they represent established practice. Education Program Manager Key Responsibilities Guarantee that every student consistently receives Alpha's three promises by developing high-performing Guides, facilitating compelling life skills experiences, and upholding rigorous standards for student achievement. Basic Requirements Willingness to work on-site at an Alpha campus (relocation support available): Greenwich, CT; Boca Raton, FL; Miami, FL; Miami Beach, FL; Boston, MA; Raleigh, NC; New York City, NY; Orange County, CA; Santa Barbara, CA Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Business, or a related field; Master's degree preferred. A minimum of 5 years of experience in education, coaching, learning and development, or a related leadership capacity. Proven experience leading and developing teams of five or more individuals, including responsibility for hiring and performance-based termination decisions. Verified success leveraging data to drive performance enhancements. Experience working with children ages 5-14 in an educational, coaching, or developmental context. Experience establishing or launching a new team, program, business, school, or initiative, with readiness to help open a new campus from inception. Willingness to operate in a school model that rejects traditional lecture-based pedagogy. Legal authorization to work in the United States. Nice-to-have Requirements Experience coaching youth through athletics, debate, camps, or extracurricular activities. Outstanding public speaking and storytelling abilities. A proven record of attaining high levels of academic, professional, or athletic achievement. Experience driving teams toward ambitious objectives while sustaining high accountability. A commitment to challenging traditional education and contributing to a new model for K-12 learning.
