Onsite in Chicago, IL Warehouse Monday-Friday Job Title: Carpenter Department/Function: Development Location: Support Center, Rockwell Reports to: Director, Production & Construction Services Job Level: 1 Full-Time Job Band: Specialist Nonexempt Travel Requirements: Rarely General Description Potbelly Sandwich Works is seeking an experienced carpenter to work alongside other craftsman, creating unique furniture, fixtures, and signage for new locations. Responsibilities Measure and cut materials for cabinets, tables, and other restaurant fixtures. Assemble cabinets, furniture, and fixtures. Operate edge bander and trim finished panels. Help with paint prep and finishing. Travel occasionally for repairs, installations, and deliveries. Maintain shop and equipment. Help with general maintenance, shipping and receiving (building crates, tool repair, etc.). Other duties as assigned. Essential Physical Functions Must have the ability/stamina to work 45 to 55 hours a week. Will frequently reach, feel, bend, stoop, and carry. Must be able to engage in problem-solving to help identify and solve potential issues. Ability to stand/walk for 8 hours per day. Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds frequently. Experience, Education and Behaviours Minimum high school degree. Minimum of 5 years relevant experience required. Should be familiar with most bench and power tools. Must be very neat and organized. Must be a self-starter who can work well with others as well as independently. Exceptional interpersonal skills are essential, along with the ability to interact with all levels of a company.
