Schedule: Sun-Thurs OR Tues-Sat

As a Peer Specialist, you’ll use your lived experience with behavioral health or substance use recovery to inspire hope, support growth, and walk alongside individuals as they build the life they want. • Share personal recovery experiences and model healthy coping strategies
• Support individuals in building confidence, resilience, and community connections
• Assist with goal-setting and navigating treatment and support systems
• Help individuals recognize and build on their own strengths
• Participate as a valued member of the treatment team
• Provide transportation support when clinically indicated;  driving is an essential function of this position 
• Complete required state training, supervision, and certification processes (if not already certified)

• High School/GED required

WORK EXPERIENCE

• Must self-identify as a current or former consumer of behavioral health, substance use, or co-occurring disorder services
• Must complete a state-approved training program, pass a standardized examination, complete certification process within 60 days of hire date, and maintain ongoing certification as a Certified Peer Specialist through the MCB (MO). Required only when applicable.
• A valid driver's license and agency established minimum automobile coverage required
