3rd Shift Production SupervisorThe 3rd Shift Production Supervisor is responsible for Safety, Quality, and Production on their assigned shift. They supervise the activities of production personnel engaged in all facets of the manufacturing function.Essential Job Functions:Implements operational strategies in assigned area(s) to assure company objectives in the areas of safety, productivity, quality, customer service, sales, human capital, cost and profitabilityAccountable for assigned area's key performance metrics including machine and labor efficiencies and provides guidance to production associates to ensure scorecard objectives are metSupports capacity planning process to meet internal and external customer on-time-delivery demandsCollaborates with cross-functional leaders to support continuous improvement initiatives to drive operational excellenceProvides guidance on staffing, training, employee relations and performance management to develop and enhance the salaried and hourly production team, working closely with direct reportsInteracts with key stakeholders to provide technical support and/or resolve order problems or complaintsMaintains industry, professional and technical knowledge by networking, attending industry events, and reviewing professional publicationsProvide daily coaching and feedback to all department employeesAssign work and monitor production orders as they arrive in departmentMonitor schedules, rush orders, hot list, call-ins, etc.Work with other production and support departments to reach consensus on most effective/efficient method of productionParticipate in department SQPC boards reporting out any concerns, successes, etc.Identify and implement process improvements and increased productivity opportunitiesEnhance internal and external department communication toward creating a cohesive work environmentParticipate in monthly department meetings and other meetings as needed to communicate policy, revisions, general updates, etc.Provide backup ECATS responsibilities and resolve issues with Payroll when necessaryAssist the Department Area Manager on the following areas: weekly/daily manning requirements, overtime requirements, quality complaintsAct as a liaison between customer and departmentAssume the roles and responsibilities of the Department Manager during scheduled vacations or unforeseen absences, ensuring seamless continuity of operations, effective team leadership, and timely decision-making to maintain departmental performance and service standardsCoordinate preventative maintenance activities on all equipmentComplete employee disciplinary issues and performance reviews in a timely manner and in line with employee handbookWork with peers and other departments to improve quality and performanceActively participate in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiativesPerform other duties as assigned by management/supervisorsAdditional Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesSafety sensitive position - ability to work in a constant state of alertness and a safe mannerAbility to work overtime and weekends as required based upon the needs of the businessAbility to work various shifts as neededAbility to effectively work in teamsAbility to work in a production-based environment with moving equipment and peopleAbility to interact and communicate effectively with a wide variety of roleAbility to read a tape measure/rulerGood communication skillsGood mathematical skillsGood organizational skillsTrouble shooting skillsAbility to read and write in English.Desire and willingness to commit to on-going professional development, including Menasha specific and other training and development opportunities as directed.Attends training and required meetings outside normal work schedule, typically two or fewer per month after initial training period.Strong interpersonal skills - you care about people and are passionate about helping others!Microsoft Office skills: Windows, Outlook, SharePoint, SAP, Word, Power Point, and Excel.Must have good color perception.Knowledge of inks and solvent characteristics and effects in different uses.Experience and Education:High school diploma or equivalent requiredBachelor's degree preferredMinimum of 4 years of relevant experience required in production required with at least 2 of those years being in a supervisory role.Previous experience in the printing industry, specifically offset printing, desiredShift:3rd shift - Core hours are 10pm-6am.
