MEP QA/QC Manager

Tracking Code4858Job DescriptionPosition Summary This role is responsible for developing and managing the quality control plan for the division. In addition, this role is responsible for ensuring that the quality of the work meets each project’s contractual requirements.Position DetailsDevelop, maintain and communicate QA/QC standards for the division and then any project level requirements that are more stringent.Review project specifications for code compliance and constructability within industry standards. Work to help standardize specifications on SI’s design build projects.Conduct and manage field observations of all MEP systems to determine compliance with approved plans, specifications, and other contract documents.Prepare regular periodic quality control reports for management team.Recognize and actively engages in the development of solutions to correct deficiencies in the project; identifies and directs corrective action as necessary.Maintain records, prepare reports, and correspondence, relative to QA / QC work.Monitor status of work and ensures work is being installed per the latest contract documents.Partner with detailing to ensure accurate install/fab and as-built drawings.Organize and run QC/QA preparatory and planning meetings prior to work taking place in field.Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction or related field preferred or applicable experience7+ years’ applicable experienceExperience in reading technical documents, drawings and / or schematicsExperience auditing systems, processes, products both internally and externallyExperience in working with Quality Management SystemsExcellent verbal and written communication skills.Excellent leadership skills necessary to achieve business and project resultsStrong project management skillsAbility to set deadlines and adhere to project schedulesWorks well in team environments, self-starter, detail oriented, highly organized, holds others accountableGood understanding and working knowledge of mechanical, plumbing, fire protection, and controls systems, along with general construction knowledgeBenefits As a 100% employee-owned company, we offer a comprehensive benefits package for you and your family:401(k) plan with 50% company match (no cap) and immediate 100% vesting Medical, dental, and vision insurance (100% paid for employee)Annual bonus program based upon performance, achievement, and company profitability Term life, AD&D insurance, and voluntary life insurance Disability income protection insurance Pre-tax flexible spending plans (health and dependent care) Paid parental leavePaid holidays, vacation, and personal time Training/professional development opportunities and company-paid memberships for professional associations and licensesWellness benefits About Southland Industries As one of the nation’s largest MEP companies, Southland Industries is built on the foundation of great people.
