Surgical - Certified Scrub Technologist (CST)

Contract | Days, 4x10s | Expected 40 hours/week | On-site | 13-Week Contract with possibility to extend

Key Responsibilities

• Function as a CST during operative and invasive procedures, establishing and maintaining the sterile field
• Prepare, organize, and maintain sterile supplies, instruments, and equipment; pull cases, stock OR rooms, and monitor supplies for outdates
• Perform surgical counts with the RN Circulator and recognize and correct breaks in sterile technique
• Assist with OR room turnover, cleaning, preparation, and transport of surgical instruments for decontamination and processing
• Process instrumentation and/or endoscopes following after-hours callback cases
• Assist with Central Sterile Processing as needed

Required Qualifications

• Current CST Certification required
• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program
• Minimum 2 years of perioperative or relevant scrub experience
• Current BLS certification required
• Basic computer skills
• Must be comfortable assisting with Central Sterile Processing as needed
• Must be flexible to support OR coverage needs, including call (up to 2 call shifts during the contract) and occasional holiday coverage

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with Central Sterile Processing and instrument decontamination workflows
• Familiarity with endoscope processing procedures
• Experience in a small or critical access hospital setting
