Position Function/Purpose: Makes general deliveries to all schools and departments. Assists other warehouse personnel and warehouse supervisor in performing assigned tasks.

Essential Functions:

• Assist in the checking in (opening of cartons, counting contents, and marking purchase order numbers/destination and sorting) of warehouse merchandise.
• Responsible for daily loading of MISD trucks, deliveries, and pickup of merchandise at all schools and departments
• Assist in filing warehouse shipping orders
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Warehouse, Procurement Supervisor, and Director of Procurement and Supply Management Services

Qualification Requirements:

• Must possess the ability to work effectively with people
• Must be able to read and write English
• Must possess or be able to obtain a Class B Commercial driver's license
• Must be able to lift objects in excess of 100 pounds, with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing 50 pounds or more
• Basic computer skills

Physical Demands:

• Heavy lifting and/or carrying
• Loading
• Stacking
• Standing and walking (8 hours per day)
• Reaching above shoulders

• Vans
• Trucks with lift
• Forklifts
• Pallet jacks
• Hand carts
• Back support belts

Work Environment:

• Work inside and outside
• Exposure to hot and cold temperatures
• Slippery or uneven walking surfaces
• Work around moving objects or vehicles
