General Requirements Subscribe to an Oath of Allegiance. Submit to a general tuberculosis examination. Be fingerprinted. Complete a pre-placement physical examination and drug screen. Show proof of identity and right to work in the United States as conditions of employment. Employment is contingent upon satisfactory drug testing. Must possess relevant training, education, and experience required for the classification. Attain placement on the eligibility list by successfully passing all examination parts pertaining to the classification. Certification & Eligibility Classified Personnel Director submits names of top three “ranks” for a vacancy to the appointing power. Appointing power may select any one of the certified individuals. Those not appointed remain on the eligibility list. The eligibility list is valid for one year. Employee service credit adds 0.5 points per complete year of service up to a maximum of five points.
