Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a day-shift position requiring a SC or compact RN license and at least 1 year of Med/Surg experience.

Details

• Medical Surgical unit within a 28-bed inpatient hospital
• Patient ratios of 1:6-7
• Day shift, 3x12 hours (7a-7p)
• Every other weekend requirement with holiday rotation
• No on-call requirement
• Floating within scope required to meet facility needs
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active SC RN license or compact license in hand prior to start
• BLS certification (AHA) required
• Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg nursing experience required
• Experience with any charting system required
• Skills in IV therapy/phlebotomy, port access/management, blood product administration, and peripheral line care
• Experience with oxygen administration, nasal cannula, and oral suctioning
• Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE use
• Driver's license and Social Security number required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide Med/Surg nursing care including IV therapy, wound care, and respiratory support
• Royal blue scrubs required
• Block scheduling may be requested but is not guaranteed
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Previous MUSC perm or PRN staff must be separated from the system for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Facility prioritizes non-local candidates within a 60-mile radius; local candidates not accepted
• All requested time off must be submitted at the time of application
• Travelers may be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season (June through November)
• Facility may cancel up to 1 shift per 2-week period
