Oral Surgery Physician Assistant

Position Summary The Oral Surgery Physician Assistant (PA) works collaboratively with the oral surgeon to provide high-quality surgical and clinical care. This role includes patient evaluation, assisting in surgical procedures, and managing pre- and post-operative care. Key Responsibilities Conduct patient assessments, including medical histories and physical exams Assist in oral and maxillofacial surgical procedures Administer local anesthesia and monitor patients during procedures (as permitted by state law) Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with the surgeon Provide pre‑operative and post‑operative patient education and care Prescribe medications within scope of practice Manage follow‑up visits and monitor patient recovery Maintain accurate and timely medical records Qualifications Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program Current PA licensure in the state of practice Certification by NCCPA (National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants) Experience in oral surgery, surgical specialties, or dentistry preferred Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications preferred Strong clinical and surgical skills Knowledge of oral and maxillofacial procedures Excellent patient communication and bedside manner Ability to work effectively in a team‑oriented surgical environment Critical thinking and decision‑making skills #J-18808-Ljbffr
