EHS Senior Associate / Safety Engineer

To serve as an individual contributor on Environmental, Health and/or Safety (EHS) projects and assignments that support and enhance Caterpillar facility performance and compliance. Responsibilities • Performs inspections and tests planned to monitor specific EHS issues, regulations and company practices. • Assists in training employees on EHS guidelines, company policies and procedures, and regulations pertaining to EHS. • Making and maintaining necessary EHS records according to established guidelines. • Contributes to the development of EHS policies and procedures. Min requirements: Bachelor’s degree in an Environmental, Health, and Safety-related discipline, such as Engineering or Science OR 2+ years of related experience OSHA regulations knowledge Microsoft office Preferred requirements: EHS experience in Manufacturing Environment Skill Descriptors Process Management: Knowledge of business process improvement tools and techniques; ability to understand, monitor, update, control, or enhance existing business or work processes. Level Working Knowledge: • Employs process flows, cycle time, process time and waste concepts as appropriate. • Walks through steps, decisions, measurements, dependencies and hand-offs for a specific process. • Creates process flow or work flow diagrams. • Documents types of process decisions and potential impact of each decision. • Identifies and monitors common process bottlenecks. Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Policy Compliance: Knowledge of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) policies; ability to implement EHS policies to ensure that provided products and services are safe for people and the environment and in compliance with legal requirements and standards. Level Working Knowledge: • Uses safety or personal protective equipment, e.g. safety boots and protective eyewear. • Prepares for emergency situations according to EHS policy. • Replaces hazardous materials with environmentally friendly ones where appropriate. • Conducts risk assessments to identify hazards in the business, work areas and work processes. • Completes incident report forms after detecting risks or hazards in the workplace. Summary Pay Range: $89,210.00 - $133,810.00 Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience.
