As an Unarmed Security Officer in a shelter setting, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and support a welcoming environment for residents, visitors, and staff. Position Type: Part Time Pay Rate: $18.87 / Hour Job Schedule: Day Time Mon 07:30 AM - 03:30 PM Tue 07:30 AM - 03:30 PM Sat 07:30 AM - 03:30 PM What You'll Do: Provide customer service to residents, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities. Respond to incidents, resident concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established reporting procedures. Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the shelter location, including common areas, entrances, exits, and perimeter areas, to help deter unauthorized activity. Monitor access points, verify visitor authorization in accordance with site procedures, and maintain accurate activity, incident, and visitor logs. Communicate observations and concerns to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision, and assist with directing emergency responders when needed. Minimum Requirements: Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles. Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
