Job Title

Registered Nurse – PACU (Post-Anesthesia Care Unit)

Location

Rocky Mount, NC

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Full-Time | Onsite | Days | 10–12 hour shifts (alternating weekly) | 40 hours per week | Shift start 6:45 AM with call requirement

Key Responsibilities

• Provide post-anesthesia nursing care to patients recovering from surgical procedures in the PACU setting
• Monitor and assess patient status following anesthesia, identifying and responding to changes in condition
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and established protocols
• Collaborate with surgical and anesthesia teams to ensure safe patient transitions and continuity of care
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the medical record
• Participate in on-call responsibilities as required by the department schedule

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification
• Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
• Current NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Demonstrated clinical competency in a PACU or surgical services environment

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in a PACU, surgical services, or perioperative nursing setting
• Familiarity with post-anesthesia assessment and pain management protocols
• Experience with on-call scheduling in a surgical environment
