Staff Software Engineer, Autonomy Actions

Salary: $172,000 - 229,000 per year Requirements:

• We require a bachelors degree in Computer Science, Robotics, or a related discipline; a masters degree or Ph.D. is preferred.
• We are looking for deep expertise in C++ optimization and defensive programming for embedded systems, including MISRA and functional-safety-rated environments.
• We need someone comfortable working in large, complex codebases where modular design and documentation are essential.
• We value experience designing and building architecture and tooling to validate complex autonomous vehicle subsystems.
• We expect experience with interface contract documentation and contract enforcement.
• We need a background in compiler integration and optimizing large codebases.
• We are looking for someone who can work across teams to prioritize and deliver software quality and performance improvements.
• Bonus consideration is given for experience with autonomous vehicles or vehicle automation systems.
• Bonus consideration is given for experience with functional safety processes and implementation.

• We will rely on you to advance the highest-priority quality initiatives ahead of commercial driverless launch.
• We expect you to collaborate closely with subsystem owners and subject matter experts to deliver the identified improvements.
• You will help strengthen software quality assessments before code reaches the vehicle.
• You will contribute to improving unrecoverable MRM rates and supporting root-cause analysis of complex issues in the Planning and Controls stack.
• You will develop and deploy agentic AI tools to streamline implementation and enforcement of new design and validation principles.
• You will help the team improve ICD documentation, error handling, diagnostics, status reporting, compiler support, static analysis integration, runtime memory behavior, and subsystem validation.
• You will present your work to the team and demonstrate how we maintain the highest standard of software quality.
• You will have opportunities to grow your skills through the use of advanced AI agents in the development process.
