About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Rehabilitation Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 19:00 - 07:00 Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Valid Nursing License Certifications: BLS Must-Have: - Medical-Surgical or Progressive Care Unit experience - BLS certification - Virginia Nursing License Description: This position is for an inpatient rehabilitation unit. The unit has a total of 35 beds. Patient ratios range from 5 to 7 patients per nurse. The staffing includes techs that vary from 2 to 4 based on census. Equipment used includes vitals machines, IV pumps, SCDs, and bladder scanners. The documentation system utilized is Meditech. The scheduling requires 12-hour shifts and every other weekend. Floating to other departments may occur as needed. Preferred candidates will have rehabilitation experience. No advanced skills are needed for this position. Procedures performed in this unit include medication administration, bladder scans, trach care, tube feeding, and blood administration. The dress code is navy blue or white solid scrubs. Candidates will have the opportunity to collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team. This team includes nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and physicians. The focus will be on impacting patient functional improvements and achieving goals for functional independence.
