Courier/Swing Drvr/DOT-1

Operates company vehicles and provides courteous and efficient delivery and pickup of packages; checks shipments for conformance to FedEx features of service; provides coverage for all assigned routes within the station's service area; provides related customer service functions. Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Education High school diploma or GED. Minimum Experience Six (6) months courier experience preferred. Must demonstrate area knowledge. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to lift 50 lbs. Ability to maneuver packages weighing over 50 lbs with appropriate equipment and/or assistance from another person. Good human relations and verbal communication skills. Thorough knowledge of the station's service area preferred. Demonstrated skills in adaptability, dependability, and excellent courier methods. Minimum age 21 years. Ability to read and speak English sufficiently to understand traffic signs and communicate with traffic safety officials and to respond to official inquiries and directions in accordance with FMCSA enforcement guidance. Job Conditions Neat appearance required due to customer contact. Must meet and maintain qualifications outlined in federal motor carrier safety regulations. Requires a medical exam in accordance with FMCSA or FAA regulations. Must obtain and maintain a valid driver's license as per state requirements for assigned vehicle type and have a good driving record as outlined in policy. Position is non-covered safety-sensitive. Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner. Preferred Qualifications Pay Transparency: $22.30 hourly. Additional Details: FT Mon–Sat hours vary, day off TBD.
