Spanish Medical Interpreter in Los Angeles, California Job Category Overview Description Verbo Interpreting Services is looking for interpreters in Los Angeles, Calif. and surrounding areas for the below mentioned language. Although this company manages different languages, at this point we only seek what is on demand. Other language interpreters may contact us for other possible areas. This is a great opportunity, as you can manage your schedule. Give us your availability and we will work around your schedule. We also provide interpretation on weekends. The assignments are offered days to weeks in advance depending on the need. The hours in which the assignments happen can vary but usually are between 8 am to 5 pm. We cover all southern California but for now we are needing in Los Angeles, CA and surrounding areas. The rate for oral interpretations is $40.00 when assignment is completed and $20.00 if claimant doesn’t show. Languages being sought: Spanish Requirements include: Full fluency in English and the second language. Basic medical terminology, i.e. body parts, diseases, symptoms. Previous experience interpreting (minimum of two-year). At least three reference letters from institutions you have worked for. Interpretations are in-person, must have own vehicle (licensed and insured). You will work on your own at the site location provided (clinic). We will assist in basic training when needed for this type of work. At least High School diploma or GED. Must have California ID and must present evidence you can work in the US as well as your proper city permits/license. Responsibilities include: Be on time to all assignments Properly attired, (casual to formal) Interpret oral conversations between English and target language for both physician and claimant. Follow assignment instructions and training guides. Responding to our approaches for work at your earliest convenience the same day. Exhibit professional behavior in every assignment. Report attendance after every assignment (company will determine acceptable methods, i.e. email, webform, etc). Job Type: Part-time Pay: $20.00 - $40.00 per hour COVID-19 considerations: Every facility has a sanitizing procedure in place, which may vary from each other.
