Vivo HealthStaff Inc. is recruiting an EMS Medical Director  for a hybrid position in Oakland, California.\n

Duties

\n
• Serve as Physician Sponsor for the department's EMS license
\n
• Ensure compliance with California EMS Rules
\n
• Approve protocols, standing orders, and medications
\n
• Review patient care records, reports, and response data
\n
• Conduct case reviews and recommend improvements
\n
• Help the EMS Assistant Chief build and evaluate a continuous quality improvement program
\n
• Approve and help develop initial and continuing EMS education
\n
• Oversee clinical competencies and skills verification
\n
• Take part in training as needed and act as subject matter expert during drills and simulations
\n
• Advise EMS-related and interagency programs as needed
\n
• Attend monthly meetings with the Fire Chief and staff
\n
• Provide medical direction for the SWAT Medic Program
\n

Minimum qualifications

\n
• MD or DO licensed in California
\n
• Background in emergency medicine/EMS or internal medicine with appropriate experience
\n
• At least 3 years in EMS medical direction or emergency medicine (equivalent experience may be accepted)
\n
• Current DEA registration and ACLS certification
\n
• Familiarity with California EMS protocols and regulations
\n
• Able to pass required clearances and background checks
\n
