Early Head Start or Head Start Teacher Assistant

We are currently accepting applications for Year Round and School Year Teacher Assistant positions in Head Start and Early Head Start programs. We provide full training and support your professional growth, and you can earn a higher wage after completing required certification. Compensation and Benefits Minimum starting pay: $20.03 per hour. Earn additional income through the Early Childhood Educator Workforce Salary Supplement Program, Annual Performance Merit Bonus, Annual Cost of Living Increase, and Generous Tuition Assistance. Hiring bonus: $2000.00. Additional monthly stipend based on Maine Roads to Quality Registry Levels: Tier 1 (Levels 1-4): $240 per month Tier 2 (Levels 5-6): $360 per month Tier 3 (Levels 7-8): $540 per month Fully insured benefits: 80% agency-paid medical insurance, paid time off, paid holidays, and 403(b) retirement plan. Child Development Credential (CDA) required. Promise Early Education will sponsor the required training and certification. Responsibilities Ensure the safety and wellbeing of children. Assist classroom teachers with classroom management. Fill in when the teacher is out of the classroom. Lift up to fifty pounds and participate in floor-time activities. Maintain reliable transportation. Use computer skills to support classroom tasks. Communicate clearly both verbally and in written form. Education Requirements Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
