Details Med/Surg Tele unit within a hospital setting Day shift schedule, three 12-hour shifts weekly (7:00 AM - 7:30 PM) Patient ratio of 1:5 Cares for patients requiring cardiac telemetry, PCU/DOU/IMC/stepdown, and CVA monitoring Performs IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral line care/management Manages respiratory needs including BiPAP/CPAP, high flow nasal cannula, and oxygen administration Administers medications and manages heparin protocols Provides cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and rapid response/code team support Manages wound care/wound vac and isolation precautions/PPE Provides pre/post hemodialysis management and renal failure care Requirements Active TX or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg Tele experience required Prior travel nursing experience required Charge nurse experience preferred Altera charting system experience preferred but not required Central line care/management, PICC line management, and blood product administration skills preferred ABG interpretation and tracheostomy care/management skills preferred Additional Information Must complete facility-administered drug screen upon arrival, which includes marijuana testing; a positive result results in automatic cancellation Candidates should avoid any substances, including CBD products, that could result in a positive drug screen Must reside within 150 miles of the facility; local candidates not accepted Previous permanent staff must have separated from employment for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler Must be available to complete required lab work within 72 hours of accepting an offer or provide a completion plan Orientation includes non-billable modules averaging 6-8 hours First-time travelers may be considered on an individual basis American Traveler Job ID P-764919.
