Corporate Trainer Level 1 - IT Location: Houston, Texas (system wide) The Organization Houston Community College (HCC) is one of the country’s largest singly‑accredited, open‑admission community colleges offering associate degrees, certificates, workforce training, and lifelong learning opportunities. Job Overview We are currently seeking a Corporate Trainer IT/PC Software Training who will advance the institution’s tradition of excellence in academics, student life, and community service. In this role, you’ll provide soft‑skills training to corporate clients on an on‑call basis, developing and delivering classroom content that meets client objectives and maintains relevancy. Your Mission Provide soft‑skills training—leadership, management, supervisory, customer service, diversity, and other human resource issues—to corporate clients on an on‑call basis, ensuring training aligns with client needs and objectives. Responsibilities Assess training needs in collaboration with Corporate College staff. Customize training content and format to fit client objectives. Deliver training in 1‑ to 3‑day classroom formats using texts, handouts, exercises, and assessment tools. Continuously update and revise course content and teaching methodology to maintain relevance and currency. Maintain familiarity with current texts, materials, and instructional techniques, recommending adoption when appropriate. Attend scheduled meetings with clients and Corporate College, including Adjunct Faculty Orientation. Maintain accurate records, including class schedules, student rosters, attendance, and grading. Actively seek ways to improve instruction. Qualifications Education ‑ Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Level 1 certificates in leadership, customer service, or related areas preferred. Non‑certified candidates must be willing to receive training or certification upon employment. Experience ‑ Minimum of three (3) years of demonstrated corporate training or related industry/technical experience. Experience in a community college, university teaching, or corporate training highly desired. Up to three (3) years of experience working at HCC in conducting corporate training preferred. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities ‑ Knowledge of management, human resources, curriculum development, and learning theory. Ability to encourage critical thinking and problem‑solving. Familiarity with leadership theories and techniques. Proficiency with current technology. Strong presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to customize training and produce professional handouts and presentations. Comfortable training in a corporate environment with professional interaction with clients.
