Job Description

This role focuses on building wooden trusses that meet specific project requirements in a fast-paced construction environment. You work on-site from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with occasional overtime when needed, and have access to an employee parking lot at the facility. You apply basic carpentry skills, follow technical specifications, and contribute to the overall truss building process while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.

Responsibilities

• Select, align, assemble, and join precut wood parts to build trusses and similar structural supports.
• Check the actual dimensions of precut parts to ensure they meet project specifications.
• Verify the accuracy and integrity of the assembly of the final product before it moves to the next stage.
• Maintain strict adherence to technical specifications, quality standards, and safety practices throughout the building process.
• Perform general labor tasks related to truss building, including material handling and staging components for assembly.
• Operate hand tools, power tools, and measurement devices safely and efficiently as part of daily work.
• Work effectively in varied outdoor weather conditions while meeting production timelines.
• Collaborate with more experienced team members to learn additional steps of the truss building process and gradually transition to operating machines and equipment.
• Support the manufacturing and production workflow by keeping the work area organized and free of hazards.
• Follow instructions from supervisors and team leads to ensure smooth coordination across the truss building operation.

Essential Skills

• Basic carpentry skills and comfort working with wood in a construction or manufacturing setting.
• Knowledge of basic building concepts and the ability to perform simple math calculations for measurements and layout.
• Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and measurement devices safely and accurately.
• Experience with general labor or construction work, including physical tasks and material handling.
• Ability to perform work in varied outdoor weather conditions and maintain productivity in a fast-paced environment.
• Attention to detail to ensure accurate measurements, proper alignment, and high-quality assembly of trusses.
• Reliability in following safety procedures and maintaining adherence to technical and quality standards.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Building construction experience is preferred but not required.
• Prior woodwork experience or familiarity with working with lumber and structural components.
• Experience working outdoors in warm or hot environments and comfort with physically demanding labor.
• Experience in production, manufacturing processes, or assembly work is beneficial.
• Ability to learn and progress from general labor tasks to more advanced machine and equipment operation over time.
• Strong teamwork skills with the ability to contribute to a positive, collaborative work culture and maintain a sense of humor.
• Willingness to grow in the role, learn from experienced coworkers, and take initiative in developing new skills.

Work Environment

You work outdoors in a non–climate-controlled area typical of labor work in Hawaii, so you should expect hot, sweaty conditions and exposure to varied weather. The role involves physical labor, frequent material handling, and working around manufacturing and assembly equipment used in the truss building process. Personal protective equipment includes steel-toed boots and pants, and some workers choose to use a lift belt for back support, though it is not required. The facility provides an employee parking lot, and the standard schedule runs from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with occasional overtime when operational needs arise. #aerojobshawaii26

This is a Permanent position based out of Kapolei, HI.

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
