Requirements Position specific questions Reason for the need? Hospital medicine program expanding to cover privates. Is there a specific start date needed? ASAP Duration of need? 6 months What’s the schedule? On-site call coverage weekends nights On site coverage during shifts. Are there specific dates needed? 6 months If call is involved what is call volume? How often do they get called back on-site? No call. Call/Rotation schedule? No call. Will they take an APP or SFA when applicable? No Who should be the timesheet approver each week? Per Locums. What are expectations for orientation? ie shadow day? EMR training? Available per request. Usually 4-8 hour shifts. Candidate Parameters Any specific fellowships/ certifications/ procedures/ competencies we are looking for? Open ICU so welcome to do procedures if you are signed off on them. Experience level? New grads welcome Credentialing questions: Will emergency privileges be an option? Yes Are case logs needed? If so what are the requirements? Yes per MSO Hospital/unit questions Number of beds? 100 Census? 50 How many daily admissions? 12 Are there any consults and if so how many per day? 0 What’s the patient population? Rural community based population. Trauma center? Types of cases? Acuity? No trauma. Bread and butter internal medicine cases. What does the support staff look like? All available. Nursing CM RT PT Lab etc. How will follow up cases be handled? when applicable- inpatient or outpatient Outpatient with community providers Specialty Specific Questions: Is call involved? No How many patients are they rounding on per day? 20-24 Will they round in the ICU? Yes open ICU What does support staff include? As per above. Are procedures and vent management required? Yes with Pulm and Cardio. What specific procedures are required? None required but ability to perform. Daily census? 50 Do the teams do grand rounds? No
