Embark on a rewarding opportunity impacting students’ lives through speech-language services. We are seeking a dedicated speech-language pathologist to support a local school system on a contract basis, serving three schools. This role is ideal for those passionate about working with pediatric populations in educational settings, including both experienced SLPs and clinical fellows.
What you’ll bring:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Active Mississippi teaching certificate with 215 endorsement
- Eligibility for licensure by the Mississippi Board of Examiners in Speech Pathology
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Certification of Clinical Competence in Speech Pathology (CCC-SLP) is preferred
- Membership in the Mississippi Speech and Hearing Association and the American Speech and Hearing Association is a plus
- Interest or background in serving pediatric populations and school-aged children
- SLP-CCC or SLP-CFY considered
Key responsibilities:
- Deliver speech and language therapy to students across elementary, middle, and high school levels
- Manage a small, assignable caseload (final number to be determined)
- Develop individualized education plans (IEPs) and maintain accurate records
- Collaborate with faculty, families, and support staff
- Assist with assessments, progress reports, and intervention planning
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings
- Potential for mentorship and support from existing virtual SLP and district personnel
- Provide coverage for a variety of communication disorders within the school community
This contract role starts July 28, 2026 and ends July 16, 2027, with an 8-hour workweek spread across three school sites. You'll make a difference with a manageable caseload, flexibility in your schedule, and exposure to a range of student needs.
