Quality Assurance Supervisor

Make Quality Happen Where It Matters Hultafors Group North America is looking for a Quality Assurance Supervisor to lead the day-to-day Quality Assurance operation within our Distribution Center. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who understands quality, enjoys solving problems, and knows how to lead a team in a fast-moving operation. You’ll be responsible for ensuring products meet our quality standards, inspection and rework processes run effectively, inventory remains accurate, and quality issues are identified and addressed before they impact our customers. You’ll also work closely with our Global Quality Assurance Manager and cross-functional partners on supplier quality, ISO compliance, new product introductions, and continuous improvement. What You'll Do Lead the Quality Team Supervise the daily work of the DC Quality team, including the Quality Lead. Set priorities and allocate work based on inspection, rework, shipping, and business needs. Coach, train, and develop team members. Support hiring, onboarding, performance management, and cross-training. Maintain consistent expectations for safety, attendance, conduct, quality, and performance. Own Product Quality & Inspection Ensure incoming materials, reworked products, and inspected goods meet company and customer quality standards. Oversee inspection records, defect documentation, reports, photographs, and related quality documentation. Ensure measuring equipment, fixtures, gauges, and vision systems are properly maintained and ready for use. Coordinate rework of nonconforming materials and manage product deviations. Identify recurring defects and quality trends and escalation issues with supporting data and recommended corrective actions. Improve Processes Lead continuous improvement efforts focused on quality, productivity, standardization, defect reduction, inventory accuracy, and cost of quality. Use structured problem-solving techniques such as 5 Why, Fishbone Analysis, Pareto Analysis, and Corrective Action methodologies . Partner with warehouse and other internal teams to improve material flow and resolve operational bottlenecks. Maintain expectations related to 5S, ISO, safety, sustainability, and the work environment. Support the Bigger Quality Picture Assist with new-product sample inspections and quality readiness for new or revised products. Support return-to-supplier activities and nonconforming product control. Maintain product traceability and inventory integrity within Quality-managed processes. Keep the Global Quality Assurance Manager informed of performance, risks, trends, and resource needs. What We're Looking For Required High school diploma or GED. Minimum of 3 years of experience in quality assurance, supplier management, and/or manufacturing operations. Previous experience leading or supervising employees in a manufacturing, warehouse, or quality environment. Understanding of quality systems, inspection processes, product defects, and documentation requirements. Strong communication, training, problem-solving, and multitasking skills. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. Knowledge of Quality Management Systems, including ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 or equivalent. Experience with root-cause analysis and corrective-action methodologies. Ability to read engineering drawings, specifications, product standards, and acceptance criteria. Experience developing inspection plans, quality procedures, control methods, and work instructions. Experience using calipers, micrometers, gauges, fixtures, and vision systems. Knowledge of calibration practices. Ability to travel internationally up to 10%, as needed.
