State Fire is a trusted name in fire protection, keeping businesses and people safe across multiple states. We install and service fire alarms, suppression systems, security solutions, and more. Right now, we’re looking for a Fire Extinguisher Shop Technician to join our team.
Experience is great, but not required—we provide full training. If you’re willing to learn, we’re willing to teach!
What You’ll Do- Inspect, service, and recharge fire extinguishers to NFPA 10 standards
- Handle dry chemical powder recovery and refilling
- Perform basic weight, pressure, and component checks
- Identify damage, corrosion, or compliance issues
- Operate recharge equipment safely and keep the work area clean
- Tag, label, and document serviced extinguishers
- Follow safety procedures and assist shop or field teams as needed
- Ability to use hand and battery-operated tools.
- Comfortable working independently and managing time efficiently.
- Strong communication skills in English—both written and verbal.
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug test.
- Willingness to work occasional overtime and travel overnight when needed.
- Obtain a Utah Fire Extinguisher License within 60 days of hire
- Work on ladders, scaffolding, and stairs.
- Lift and carry up to 70 lbs.
- Work indoors and outdoors in various conditions.
