About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Stepdown Cardiac Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 1.5 years in Stepdown or Progressive Care Unit License: Active state RN license or compact license required Certifications: BLS, NIH Must-Have: EPIC experience, ability to read and interpret telemetry strips Description: Winter jobs available! 13-week contract. Must be available to work a minimum of every other holiday. Experience must reflect a 1:5 patient ratio in the work history section. ICU experience does not count towards Stepdown/Progressive Care Unit experience. Targeted patient ratios are 1:5-6. Must have EPIC experience and pass an online EKG tele competency assessment before starting. BLS and NIH certifications are required; ACLS preferred. Nurses must be competent in starting IVs and running IV drips such as heparin, nitroglycerin, amiodarone, and insulin. Daily average census is 31. Typical patients include heart failure, chest pain, NSTEMI, post-procedure patients, and COPD exacerbation. Travelers may be required to float to other units or departments as needed. Must be available to work every other weekend and holiday. Travelers are not eligible for employee incentives. No schedule requests will be negotiated after an offer is made. Candidates must be comfortable floating with no restrictions or special requests. Lab work, along with EKG/Dysrhythmia assessments, must be completed promptly after signing the contract. References are not required. Candidates with any past license disciplinary action will not be accepted.
