Position Overview

This role requires maintaining a professional image while delivering excellent customer relations to patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers in alignment with established Service Excellence Standards and Core Values. Responsibilities include a range of nursing duties, patient assessments, and operating room preparations in a high-pressure environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess the needs of patients as assigned, utilizing data collected through patient history, observations, physical examinations, and diagnostic data analysis.
• Delegate, supervise, and evaluate the activities of other team members while executing immediate directives in urgent or emergency situations.
• Provide appropriate nursing interventions consistent with the Plan of Care and medical protocols prescribed by physicians.
• Complete verification of the Safe Surgery checklist following service excellence standards.
• Document all care information accurately and in a timely manner in the required formats.
• Use appropriate health and safety equipment to ensure the safety of both patients and staff while fulfilling duties in and out of the sterile field.
• Prepare the operating room for patient procedures and position patients on the operating table.
• Serve as the communication liaison to families and members of the operating team.
• Support the continued professional growth through goal setting and participation in educational opportunities.
• Perform additional duties as assigned based on the specific requirements of the assignment.
• Participate in on-call duties as scheduled.
• Utilize computer programs effectively to enhance patient care delivery.
• Assist in managing the control and maintenance of supplies and equipment.
• Execute all circulating duties with efficiency and speed.

Unit Description

This position is within a Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) that averages 6 cases per day. The ideal candidate will demonstrate confidence in performing open heart surgery and vascular cases. Weekday hours with weekend on-call requirements apply.

Required Credentials

• Current nursing license.
• Valid Social Security Card.
• Compliance with health history requirements including vaccinations and screenings.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will possess strong clinical skills, effective communication abilities, and a commitment to providing exceptional patient care in a demanding environment. Experience in Cardiovascular or Vascular surgery is preferred.
