IT Support Technician We are seeking a hands-on IT Support Technician to serve as the first point of contact for day-to-day technology support across the organization. This role handles help desk requests, desktop and hardware support, and routine maintenance, keeping end users productive and equipment running reliably. This position focuses on frontline support and escalates complex infrastructure issues as needed. The ideal candidate is dependable, service-oriented, and comfortable troubleshooting a wide range of hardware and software issues. Pay Scale : $40,000 - $60,000 Key Responsibilities Help Desk & End-User Support Serve as the first point of contact for employee technology requests via phone, email, and in person. Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, printing, and connectivity issues for desktops, laptops, and mobile devices. Support standard business applications, including Google Workspace, email, and communication tools. Log, track, and follow up on support requests to ensure timely resolution, and elevate complex or infrastructure-level issues appropriately. Assist employees with software installation, configuration, and basic training. Desktop & Hardware Support Set up, image, and deploy new desktops, laptops, monitors, and peripherals. Perform hardware repairs, upgrades, and replacements, coordinating warranty service when required. Maintain and support printers, copiers, and scanners. Support remote desktop connectivity and assist users working remotely. Manage hardware and software lifecycles, including upgrades, maintenance, and end-of-life planning. User Administration & Onboarding Create, modify, and disable user accounts and access under the direction of leadership for new hires, role changes, and departures. Prepare workstations, phones, and credentials for new employees and reclaim equipment from departing staff. Support administration of the common drive, shared folders, and standard permissions. Promote cybersecurity awareness by educating staff on security best practices and organizational policies. Routine Maintenance & Operations Perform preventative maintenance, software updates, and patching on end-user devices. Assist with routine backup verification and support recovery tasks as directed. Monitor and maintain the phone system and coordinate service on communication and internet connectivity issues. Support Spireon telematics units and other field hardware, including installation, replacement, tracking, and vendor coordination. Asset & Inventory Management Maintain an accurate inventory of hardware, software licenses, peripherals, and accessories. Track equipment assignments, warranties, and lifecycle status, and recommend replacements as needed. Keep support documentation, procedures, and knowledge base articles current. Coordinate with technology vendors, service providers, and support partners to resolve issues and ensure service reliability. Manage vendor relationships, licensing, warranties, and support agreements. Qualifications Required Associate's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 1+ years of hands-on IT support, help desk, or desktop support experience. Working knowledge of Windows desktop operating systems, common business applications, and basic networking concepts. Strong troubleshooting skills and a customer-service mindset. Clear written and verbal communication skills. Ability to respond to occasional support needs outside normal business hours. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Preferred Qualifications CompTIA A+, Network+, or equivalent industry certifications. Experience with Google Workspace administration. Experience supporting printers, copiers, VoIP phone systems, and mobile devices. Familiarity with McLeod Software (TMS) or other transportation management systems. Experience with telematics or fleet tracking hardware (e.g., Spireon). Basic familiarity with backup and remote support tools. 1+ years of experience with SQL and Python.
