General Production Worker

Job Title: General Production Worker - 1ST SHIFT - START ASAP
Job Description
The General Production Worker sets up, operates, and monitors folding and packaging equipment to produce high-quality printed materials. This role follows established procedures and specifications, ensures consistent product quality, and supports production goals by working both independently and as part of a team in a climate-controlled manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities

• Determine the required type of fold for each job based on current production specifications.
• Determine and print all paperwork needed for each job, ensuring documentation is complete and accurate.
• Follow all procedures required for job setup, operation, and completion in accordance with standard operating practices.
• Select appropriate folding sections to be used for each production run.
• Insert correct folding gates and blanks to achieve the specified fold configuration.
• Source and stage printed materials for folding in a timely and organized manner.
• Set up the feeder to properly fit and handle sheets for efficient processing.
• Set rollers and adjust equipment to maintain consistent product flow and quality.
• Set fold gates to ensure correct fold quality, dimensions, and alignment.
• Install and adjust slitters or scorers as needed to complete required fold and finishing operations.
• Obtain quality assurance sign-off for each job prior to full production run.
• Constantly monitor the quality, size, and accuracy of finished leaflets during the job run, making adjustments as needed.
• Box folded products for further application or shipping, depending on the next stage in the process.
• Comply with all departmental Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), company Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Employee Handbook policies, attendance requirements, and all safety rules and standards.
• Work overtime as needed to complete tasks and meet production deadlines.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned to support production operations.

• Ability to count and measure accurately to meet production and quality specifications.
• Strong attention to detail to ensure precise folding, sizing, and packaging of materials.
• Ability to work independently as a self-starter, managing tasks with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and collaborate with others in the production environment.
• Ability to follow written, oral, and verbal directions from supervisors and team members.
• Ability to respond to questions from managers, team members, and customers in a clear and professional manner.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures related to printing and production processes.
• Ability to use a computer to navigate and understand specifications and job-related documentation.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Knowledge of printing production processes is a plus.
• Experience with gluing systems and glue detection systems is a plus.
• Experience with setting up sensors, scanners, and vision systems is a plus.
• Packaging experience in the pharmaceutical or food packaging industry is a plus.
• Comfort working with hand tools and operating production machinery.
• Experience in general production, packaging, packing, inspection, and machine operation is beneficial.

Work Environment
The role is based in a humidified, climate-controlled warehouse environment maintained in accordance with government regulations. While performing the duties of this job, employees are regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles and print-related chemicals typical of a printing production setting, and frequently work around moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is moderate, and production equipment and machinery are used daily to complete folding and packaging tasks.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Saint Charles, MO.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $18.25/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
