Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Litigation Attorney role based in Walnut Creek, CA. The Litigation Attorney will manage a caseload focused on healthcare and business-related disputes, including contract, employment, regulatory, and practice-related matters for dental, medical, and other healthcare clients. Day-to-day responsibilities include drafting pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, and legal memoranda, as well as conducting legal research on federal and state laws impacting healthcare practices. The role involves appearing in court, at mediations, and in administrative hearings; taking and defending depositions; and working closely with partners to develop case strategies and settlement approaches. The Litigation Attorney will regularly communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and third parties, provide status updates, and collaborate with the broader team to deliver timely and practical litigation solutions. Qualifications Licensed and in good standing with the State Bar of California, with 5-10 years of civil litigation experience (healthcare, business, or employment litigation experience preferred). Strong litigation skills, including legal research, drafting pleadings and motions, managing discovery, and preparing for hearings, mediations, and trials. Ability to analyze complex factual and legal issues, develop case strategy, and provide clear, practical recommendations to clients. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail and the ability to explain legal concepts in accessible terms. Demonstrated client service mindset, including responsiveness, professionalism, and comfort working directly with entrepreneurial healthcare clients. Effective time management and organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple matters and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Collaborative mindset and ability to work closely with partners, paralegals, and staff in a small-firm, team-oriented setting. Experience or strong interest in healthcare law, regulatory compliance, and advising professional practices is highly desirable.
