Travel RN – MedSurg/Telemetry (Nights)

Contract | Travel | 13 Weeks | Night Shift, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | 12-Hour Shifts | Every Other Weekend Required | Holidays Required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 36-bed MedSurg/Telemetry unit with a 1:6 patient ratio
• Perform continuous telemetry monitoring and rhythm interpretation for all assigned patients
• Conduct thorough nursing assessments with close attention to detail and condition changes
• Perform unit-specific procedures including PICC line removal and vascular/temporary catheter removal
• Complete documentation using the Meditech electronic health record system
• Participate in hourly rounding, bedside shift report, and patient experience initiatives including AIDET and My Care Boards; float to other units as needed per facility policy

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid for practice in Louisiana
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required prior to submission
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience in a MedSurg or Telemetry setting
• Demonstrated ability to interpret telemetry rhythms
• Proficiency or prior experience with Meditech documentation system preferred at time of submission

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience working in a Level II Trauma Center or Certified Stroke/Chest Pain Center environment
• Familiarity with iMobile technology and Dynamap vital signs equipment
• Strong multitasking ability and demonstrated performance in high-acuity, fast-paced environments
• National nursing certification in a relevant specialty
