Description

American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift ICU RN with 2+ years of ICU experience and Epic proficiency for a Level III Trauma teaching hospital.

Details

• ICU setting within a Level III Trauma Center and teaching hospital
• Patient ratios of 1:2-3
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-7:00)
• Requires every other weekend
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating required within the hospital or affiliated campuses based on staffing needs
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active NC or Compact RN license required (pending license not accepted)
• Minimum of 2 years of ICU experience required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Epic EMR experience required
• Must pass Advanced EKG exam prior to start
• No background or license actions within the past 12 months
• Skills required include IV therapy, arterial line management, blood product administration, central and PICC line care, and management of ventilated patients
• Experience with cardiac drip titration, vasoactive drip management, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and 12-lead EKG acquisition required
• Experience with IV insulin protocols and continuous IV sedation/paralytics required

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to ICU patients requiring advanced monitoring and interventions
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Trauma Level II experience preferred
• Scrub color requirement: royal blue and white
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the main campus to be eligible
• Former employees must be separated from the facility for at least one year before returning as a traveler
• Maximum of 4 days RTO permitted, with one major holiday request allowed
• Extension policy allows one extension on day shift or two on night shift, followed by a required 6-month break before reapplying
• First-time travelers considered at manager's discretion based on experience level
