Assistant Teacher Eager Explorers Daycare at SPORTIME - we are a small daycare, licensed by the New York State Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS), located within SPORTIME Schenectady. Eager Explorers is designed to serve preschool age children - our focus is on, and our expertise is in, their age-appropriate play, learning, development and FUN. Our small class sizes and low student-to-teacher ratios allow for individual needs to be met within the classroom setting. We offer a diverse and comprehensive curriculum. Through our play based curriculum, our affectionate and loving staff ensures that our children are imparted with the knowledge to succeed. Responsibilities Follow all licensing guidelines and company standards to ensure the daily care of every child. Help maintain a fun, interactive classroom that is clean and organized. Work alongside a lead teacher and director to ensure a quality experience is had by all. Develop your ability to accurately observe, assess, and plan for children, as well as effectively communicate with families. Complete extensive training on child care and child development topics. Qualifications Energetic, dependable, passionate individuals who are at least 18 and have: High school diploma or equivalent The ability to meet state and/or accreditation requirements for education and experience The ability to work indoors or outdoors and engage in physical activity with children At least 1 year experience working with children Ability to pass a background check Compensation and Schedule COMPENSATION: $19.00 per hour SCHEDULE: Part-time Benefits Member benefits- Employees receive complimentary Sportime membership and are eligible to use club facilities and participate in club programs on a complimentary or discounted basis, and to receive discounts on retail and other purchases. 401k Plan with employer match – Employees are eligible to enroll in Sportime’s 401k retirement plan, with matching, after they have completed one year of continuous service, worked at least 1000 hours in such calendar or anniversary year, and are over 21 years old.
