Job Description

This Medical Assistant position supports a busy outpatient practice by assisting with patient care, maintaining accurate documentation, and ensuring exam rooms are clean, prepared, and ready for each visit. You will work closely with clinical and administrative staff to provide a smooth, efficient, and welcoming experience for patients.

Responsibilities

• Room patients promptly and courteously, escorting them to exam rooms and preparing them for provider visits.

• Perform accurate and timely patient charting, including documenting vital signs, medical histories, and other relevant information in the electronic medical record.

• Clean, restock, and prep exam rooms between patients to maintain a safe, sanitary, and organized clinical environment.

• Provide general administrative support such as data entry, updating patient records, and assisting with practice workflows as needed.

• Collaborate closely with providers, nurses, and administrative staff to ensure coordinated and efficient patient care.

• Manage multiple tasks and priorities throughout the day while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.

• Support a positive patient experience by communicating clearly, answering basic questions, and helping patients feel comfortable during their visit.

• Follow practice policies and procedures to support quality, safety, and confidentiality standards.

Essential Skills

• Experience providing administrative support in a healthcare or medical office setting.

• Hands-on experience with medical assisting tasks such as rooming patients and supporting clinical workflows.

• Proficiency in data entry with strong attention to detail and accuracy.

• Ability to use electronic medical records (EMR) systems to document and retrieve patient information.

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task in a busy clinical environment.

• Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a team player and collaborate with clinical and administrative staff.

• High School Diploma or GED.

• No medical assistant license required for this role.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with EPIC electronic medical record system is preferred.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact professionally with patients and colleagues.

• Ability to remain well organized and focused while managing multiple responsibilities.

• Comfort working in different specialties and adapting to varying clinical workflows, especially for the float role.

Work Environment

This role is based in an outpatient clinical setting. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. You will work in exam rooms and clinical areas that require regular cleaning and preparation, and you will use electronic medical record systems, including EPIC if available. The environment is team-oriented and fast-paced, with frequent interaction with patients, providers, and support staff

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of White Plains, NY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
