Responsibilities
- Operate ultrasound imaging equipment and adjust settings to obtain high-quality images for diagnostic interpretation; position patients to optimize views.
- Prepare patients for examinations, demonstrate adequate images of anatomy, and provide ultrasound guidance for attending physicians in special procedures.
- Review exam details with radiologists prior to patient discharge; document procedures in patient records and hospital systems (PACS/EPIC) with accuracy and HIPAA-compliant confidentiality.
- Troubleshoot basic equipment issues and coordinate with Clinical Engineering as needed; verify orders and patient identification with two identifiers; ensure proper labeling of anatomy and imaging planes.
- Maintain endocavity probe disinfection per policy and ensure timely sending of images after hours when required.

Requirements
- Ability to operate ultrasound units and probes and obtain adequate imaging for diagnostic purposes.
- Proficiency with PACS and EPIC for image management and patient record documentation.
- Ability to verify patient identity and orders using two identifiers; maintain accurate clinical history and charting.
- Strong patient communication skills and compassionate interaction with ill or injured individuals.
- Adherence to infection control practices, including high-level disinfection of endocavity probes, and compliance with HIPAA standards.
