Assistant General Manager

Oddball is a design-forward cocktail bar on Avenue B built around unexpected pairings, a retro-futurist point of view, and ambitious drinks served without pretension.

Our cocktail program is led by Beverage Director and owner Logan Rodriguez, and we’re expanding the experience with a new food program and backyard service.

We’re looking for an Assistant General Manager to lead our team and own the day-to-day service operation.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who is strong with people, organized, and comfortable running the room. You’ll have real responsibility for how the team is hired, scheduled, coached, and led through service.

People: Lead hiring and onboarding, build the schedule, coach the team, give clear feedback, manage day-to-day performance, and develop people who can take on more responsibility.

Service: Lead pre-shifts, deploy the team, manage service flow, handle guest issues, and keep perspective on the full room.

Operations: Own shift readiness, opening and closing standards, service handoffs, team organization, and day-to-day follow-through. Help keep the physical space, operating tools, responsibilities, and routines organized.

You’ll work closely with ownership to improve service quality, labor efficiency, guest feedback, and overall execution.

New team members ramp quickly. Leaders on the floor are confident and accountable. Guests feel looked after without the experience becoming formal or scripted.

Over time, you help build a service culture that is as distinctive as the drinks and the room.

You’ve managed people in a strong cocktail bar, restaurant, or hospitality business, ideally as an AGM, Service Manager, Floor Manager, or similar role.

Your previous title matters less than what you’ve actually done.

• bringing organization and follow-through to daily operations
• improving guest experience and operating performance

You’re organized and dependable, but you’re not an office-only manager. You like being on the floor, understanding what is happening in the room, talking to guests, and helping the team improve.

Strong cocktail knowledge is useful, but not required. The focus will be people leadership, service management, and operational organization.

You’ll be the primary day-to-day leader for the service team and work closely with Oddball’s ownership team. This is a full time, service focused position with four days of service and one on-premise admin day.

You’ll own scheduling, coaching, team accountability, organization, and floor execution. Hiring and termination decisions are made with ownership. Ownership retains responsibility for strategy, P&L, budgets, and major business decisions.
