Career Opportunity Comprehensive Cancer Centers of Nevada is seeking a full‑time Registered Nurse in the Las Vegas, Nevada area. Scope Under general supervision, provides professional nursing care for patients adhering to national and company standards and guidelines for specialty regulations. Demonstrates knowledge of physiological, psychological, developmental, and age‑specific differences in the patient population including late adolescence, adulthood, middle age, and the elderly. Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to provide assessment and therapeutic management of patient/family needs. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, including the Code of Ethics and Business Standards. Responsibilities Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate, and promote the continuity of care consistent with established standards and practices. Assess health status by interviewing patients regarding their status and medical history. Collect and record nursing assessments and interventions. Review and report results of health status assessments, physical examinations, pertinent laboratory and radiographic data, and psychosocial assessments to provider. Assess patient/family needs and provide teaching and other instruction. Provide psychosocial support to patients and families. Maintain patient confidentiality. Prepare and administer therapies under the direction and supervision of a physician. Administer all medications and blood products using correct dosage, route, time, and technique. Ensure pre‑authorization and appropriate consent forms are obtained before therapy administration. Facilitate dose modification by assessing patients, reviewing labs, consulting protocols, calculating dose, and consulting physician regarding dosage modifications, problems, and symptom management. Perform venipuncture, access implanted ports, and maintain central line catheter devices. Maintain accurate documentation of assigned patient care and treatments provided. Apply knowledge of reimbursement procedures and charge capture. Maintain a work environment. Restock supply area as needed. Follow OSHA guidelines when handling cytotoxic agents, biohazardous waste, and any other material potentially infected with a blood‑borne pathogen. Maintain all disinfection protocols. Maintain equipment according to quality control standards. Facilitate clinical operations and patient care. Manage patient medication refill requests from the pharmacy telephone line and record information in patient chart. Assist physician with examinations. Maintain efficient and appropriate patient flow in and out of exam rooms. Facilitate and schedule consultations, pre‑testing, diagnostic tests or procedures, referrals, and future appointments for patients. Triage patient phone calls as needed and document relevant information in patient chart. As necessary, facilitate communication between patient/family and interdisciplinary team and coordinate services related to patient care. Assist patients in locating available community resources. Other duties as assigned. Inter‑professional collaboration. Assist and collaborate with clinical research. Act as a resource to LPN/LVNs and medical assistants. Provide nursing coverage for satellite offices as needed. Participate in professional development activities and maintain current knowledge of oncology nursing by participating in ongoing educational opportunities. Qualifications High School Diploma. Graduate from an accredited program for professional nursing education. RN state license and current registration with the Nevada State Board of Nursing. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Preferred: 1 year in oncology. Preferred: BSN. Must maintain continuing education requirements. Business Experience: 0–3 years nursing experience, preferably at least one year in oncology. Working Conditions Environment: represents typical conditions in an oncology/hematology clinic; possible exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medical preparations, and other conditions common to an oncology/hematology clinic environment. Physical Requirements: requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, eye‑hand coordination, standing and walking for extensive periods. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 40 lbs. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Transplant RN Specialty Responsibilities Position Summary: Provides nursing care from initial patient contact through high‑dose chemotherapy followed by stem cell rescue to follow‑up care post‑stem cell rescue. Key Responsibilities: Manage symptoms/toxicities/health abnormalities related to the intense high‑dose therapy, stem cell rescue, and rehabilitation following the rescue in collaboration with the transplant physician and/or supervisor. Key Responsibilities: Report data to the company for transplant related registries and appropriate bodies, International Autologous and Blood and Marrow Transplant Registries; incorporate company Transplant Network recommendations into clinical practice as assigned. Minimum Job Qualifications: Experience in bone marrow or hematopoietic stem cell transplant setting. Infusion RN Specialty Responsibilities Programs portable infusion pumps for continuous drug delivery and provides instruction to patient and/or caregiver in pump use at home. Demonstrates knowledge of ambulatory infusion pump use and maintenance, cleaning pumps after use, and proper documentation of pump usage.
