In-office/non-remote in Maryville, TN.

The SAP Basis Administrator plays a critical role in delivering consistent high-performance SAP systems and applications to support business operation. The SAP Basis Administrator is responsible for architecting SAP technical solutions, implement and support SAP applications and Infrastructure, monitor the systems performance and utilization. Because the SAP Basis Administrator is involved with multiple business functional groups (Sales, HR, Finance, etc.), he/she will not only know how to manage multiple projects, but will also be a key player in day-to-day systems operations in support of all business areas.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• System Installation and Configuration:
• Install and configure SAP systems, including SAP ECC, SAP S/4HANA, SAP BW/BI, SAP GRC, Solution Manager etc., based on business requirements and best practices.
• Perform system upgrades, patches, and installations of SAP software components.
• Perform AIX OS upgrades, patches, and installations.
• System Administration:
• Perform routine system administration tasks such as client copy, system copy, client export/import, and system refresh.
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize system resources to ensure high availability and performance.
• Transport Management:
• Configure and manage the SAP Transport Management System (TMS) for transporting changes between SAP systems.
• Monitor and troubleshoot transport-related issues.
• Backup and Recovery:
• Design and implement backup and recovery strategies for SAP systems.
• Perform regular backups and ensure data integrity and availability.
• Integration and Interface Management:
• Configure and manage interfaces and integration between SAP and non-SAP systems.
• Monitor and troubleshoot interface related issues.
• Performance Tuning:
• Analyze system performance metrics, identify bottlenecks, and implement performance tuning measures to optimize system performance.
• Documentation and Compliance:
• Maintain accurate documentation of SAP system configurations, procedures, and standards.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies (SOX, PCI, Corporate, etc.).

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Proven experience as an SAP BASIS Administrator or in a similar role with 7+ years of experience in a medium to large size organization.
• Proven proficiency in SAP installation, configuration, and administration.
• SAP certifications are a plus.
• Very strong DB2 and AIX expertise and skills.
• In-depth knowledge of SAP technologies, architecture, and components.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Participate in on-call rotation to ensure 24/7 operations of critical systems.
• Strong internal and external audit experience is a plus.
• Desire to always improve on processes by implementing automation whenever possible.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to stay updated with the latest SAP technologies and trends.
• Flexibility to work outside regular business hours for system maintenance and support activities.
• Strong commitment to maintaining system security and data integrity.
• Must have excellent command of the English language, in both verbal and written communications.

Physical Demands:

• Works in an office environment.
• Able to sit and work at a computer keyboard for extended periods of time.
• Able to lift and move up to 25 pounds occasionally.

Work Environment and Personal Protective Equipment:

Normal office environment and office lighting. The use of personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required when a job task(s) is being completed in or around your assigned department or in another department, this includes vision, hearing, and footwear.

Within the Smith & Wesson manufacturing facility employees may be exposed to manufacturing noise, airborne liquid chemicals, fine particulate dust, ambient temperatures, and industrial lighting. All employees are required to apply ergonomic correctness to all job tasks.
