Fetal Cardiac Sonographer111 Michigan Avenue Northwest Washington, DC 20010Kids Are Our Everything.Department: 10233 EchocardiographyPay Range: $52.39 - $98.88 Schedule: Part TimeWho We Are:The Children's National Heart Institute's Outpatient interdisciplinary team extends services throughout a network of systems, providing a family centered focus throughout the continuum for clientele ranging in age from fetal life (pre-natal evaluation) through adulthood (adult congenital evaluation and treatment).Children's National Heart Institute provides an extensive range of evaluation services for children and adults with congenital heart disease with programs that include fetal echocardiography, general cardiac evaluation, pulmonary hypertension, cardiac transplantation, syncope, electrophysiology, cardiac catheterization and interventions, preventive cardiology and adult congenital through our cardiology outpatient clinics.What You'll Do:The Fetal Cardiac Sonographer will perform a variety of technical and research responsibilities related to the Cardiology Echo Laboratory. Work collaboratively with hospital staff. Perform Echocardiograms, including measurements, and other diagnostic tests accurately and efficiently. Maintain Records/Billing forms accurately. Promote education for others in department about echocardiography.What You'll Bring:Minimum Education:High School Diploma (Required)ANDGraduate of an approved school of Echocardiography (Required)Minimum Experience:2 years Prior experience performing fetal echo in a dedicated pediatric/fetal echocardiography lab, excluding OB/MFM office experience (Required)Certifications/Licensure Requirements:Registered Pediatric Echocardiographer CCI/ARDMS (PE)ORRegistered Congenital Cardiac Sonographer (RCCS) Upon Hire (Required)ANDFetal Echocardiography certification ARDMS RDCS (FE) Upon Hire (Required)ANDBasic Life Support for Healthcare Provider (BLS) Upon Hire (Required)Required Skills/Knowledge:Show respect and sensitivity Demonstrate patience, self-control and self-disciplineFunctional Abilities:Independently perform echos on complex patients with congenital heart disease in inpatient and outpatient setting in a timely fashion. Independently perform fetal echocardiograms on expecting mother's fetus for early detection of congenital heart disease.Perform all required modalities for standard/research echos according to protocol.Provides education to expecting mothers on using handheld Doppler probe.
