Step into a rewarding contract opportunity delivering music therapy services within a supportive school environment near Katy, TX. Beginning August 11, 2026, and running through May 26, 2027, this part-time role offers 15-20 hours per week on-site at Bright Futures Academy at Beasley Elementary School. You’ll provide both individual and group music therapy to students, helping to empower and inspire growth through creative engagement.

Qualifications and Experience:

• National Certification as a Music Therapist required
• Experience with school-age children, particularly those with autism and developmental disabilities
• Strong knowledge of music therapy assessment protocols and adaptive equipment
• Familiarity with procedures for documenting therapy in accordance with IEP requirements
• Excellent organization, communication, and interpersonal abilities
• Ability to consult with teachers, staff, and parents to support student progress
• Must meet district fingerprinting and credentialing standards (existing prints may be valid)

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement music therapy sessions in alignment with student IEPs
• Assess student needs and progress, adapting approaches and equipment as required
• Participate in Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) Committee meetings, contributing to assessment interpretation, placement, and goal setting
• Provide consultation and staff training to enhance understanding and integration of music therapy
• Foster a positive, supportive learning atmosphere appropriate to students’ levels and needs
• Manage and maintain all required documentation, records, and compliance with federal, state, and local policies
• Participate in professional development activities to further skill development
• Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors
